The Royal Asiatic Society has recently re-digitised 1930s footage in their collections showing the archaeologist Reginald Campbell Thompson's excavations at Nineveh, close to Mosul in northern Iraq. My Filming Antiquity colleague Michael McCluskey and I have been investigating the film over the course of the past six months or so, and have written a blog post for the RAS based on the research presented at our screening of the footage at the Society in January.
